Barnes SW15 is an area of London that hasn't allowed its pristine views of the Thames to be over commercialised and is therefore an attractive option for those wishing to rent near the river and still be in touch with the West End. The railway bridge is a low-profile marvel of elegant brickwork and wrought iron that really lends character to the waterfront. Leading from here, a strip of Georgian architecture along the Thames path forms The Terrace - the area's most select enclave.
